Your first broker sync

Syncing is how PropStax pulls your accounts in from your broker. Click Sync Accounts on the Dashboard (or go to Sync in the sidebar) and pick the data feed your broker uses.

PropStax supports three feeds:

• Tradovate — one-time OAuth. You authorize PropStax once and the connection persists. Future syncs don’t ask for credentials again.
• Rithmic — you enter your credentials every sync. PropStax never stores them.
• DxFeed — you enter your credentials every sync. PropStax never stores them.

Why Rithmic and DxFeed re-prompt every time

This is on purpose. Tradovate offers OAuth, which is a standard way to grant PropStax access without sharing your password — so we can store an OAuth token safely and reuse it. Rithmic and DxFeed don’t offer that. The only way for PropStax to fetch your data through those feeds is to use your username and password directly. We made the call to never store those credentials, which means re-prompting on every sync. The tradeoff: you re-enter them periodically, in exchange for credentials that can’t leak from PropStax.

The 5-account cap

You can sync up to 5 accounts per sync run. If you have more than 5 at a broker, pick the most active ones first — you can return to Sync any time to bring in the rest. This cap exists to keep each sync run fast and reliable; it’s not a Pro/Free limit.

What to expect

After you pick accounts and click through to the syncing step, PropStax fetches your historical data. This takes anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of minutes depending on how much history is involved. When it finishes, you’ll land on a summary screen showing which accounts came in and how many days of data were pulled. Click Back to dashboard to see them in context.
