Balance adjustments (payouts and resets we caught)
After a sync, PropStax compares the balance your broker reported to the balance it expected based on your trading history. When those don’t match, something happened outside of trading — usually a payout, an evaluation reset, or a fee.
If PropStax finds one or more of these unexplained balance changes, the Balance adjustments walkthrough opens automatically after the sync finishes, walking you through each one in chronological order.
What you see for each adjustment
Each candidate shows:
- The account.
- The trading day the change happened on.
- The balance change in dollars (and direction — rose by, dropped by).
You classify it:
- Payout — the account paid you out. PropStax asks for the profit split percentage so it can compute the net amount you received.
- Fee — your broker charged a fee.
- Reset — your evaluation was reset to the starting balance.
- Dismiss — the change is something else (or PropStax has it wrong). It’s recorded but doesn’t create a payout/cost entry.
Broker-confirmed candidates
When the broker’s data itself includes a payout event (rare — most brokers don’t expose payouts directly), the walkthrough simplifies the choice to Add payout / Already added. Same profit-split input as the math-detected version.
Save, skip, or dismiss
- Save & next — apply your classification and move to the next candidate.
- Skip — move on without saving. PropStax will ask again next sync.
- Dismiss — mark this candidate as not actionable. Won’t be asked again.
- Dismiss all X remaining — bulk-dismiss the rest. Useful if PropStax detected a lot of small noise.
When you finish or close the walkthrough, you’re back on the post-sync summary screen.
