Connecting a CQG (AMP) account

CQG is a second way to connect a personal (real-money) account, alongside Tradovate — used by brokers like AMP that route their account data through CQG. Like any personal account, it lands on your Personal dashboard and stays walled off from your prop-firm math.

Before you start

  • It comes with Pro. CQG is real-money account tracking, which Pro includes and Basic does not. See Subscription & billing.
  • Your login is used once, then discarded. PropStax signs in for that one sync and never stores your CQG username or password — every sync asks again. That’s by design.

Connecting

  1. Open Sync, choose Personal brokerage account, and pick the CQG feed tile. (If the tile is dimmed and says Personal sync coming soon when you point at it, CQG isn’t switched on for your account yet — contact support via Settings → Help & support.)
  2. On Which broker are you connecting?, pick the broker whose CQG login you’ll sign in with (for example, AMP). Don’t see yours? It may not be flipped on for CQG yet — contact support to add it.
  3. Enter your CQG username and password, tick I understand my other CQG sessions will be disconnected, and click Connect & find accounts. Use Change broker if you picked the wrong one.
  4. PropStax shows Finding your accounts… while it connects and lists what’s on your login.

Choosing which accounts to track

CQG can return more accounts than you want to track, so you pick — up to five per sync, the same cap as the other feeds.

  • Check the accounts you want. The counter reads n of N selected, and Clear all resets it.
  • At five, you’ll see Maximum 5 accounts per sync. Uncheck an account to swap. — uncheck one to pick another.
  • The first sync pulls in your recent history — up to about a month, the most CQG lets us retrieve. Older history comes from Declaring your commission rates → Upload history.

Each account syncs on its own row with its own spinner, so you can watch them finish one by one. When it’s done you’ll see Sync complete (or Sync finished with errors if a broker dropped one), a per-account summary, Back to dashboard, and Sync again, which returns you to the wizard’s first screen for another sync. The summary counts what this sync added — new fills and new trades — alongside your account’s total trades. A quiet re-sync reading 0 new is normal: it means nothing changed since last time, not that data is missing.

When a sync could not bring in everything, the account’s row says so:

  • CQG keeps 28 days; upload an Orders export for Aug 20 – Sep 11, 2026. CQG hands over only its last 28 days, so older days since your last sync have to come from an upload. See Upload history.
  • Daily totals were not rebuilt; the next sync rebuilds them. Your fills and trades were saved; only the day totals wait for the next sync.

New accounts found later

If a later sync turns up accounts you’re not tracking yet, the summary shows n new accounts found — not tracked yet with two choices:

  • Sync selected — check up to five and sync them now.
  • Store all for later — add them without syncing. They become tracked shells and fill in the next time you sync — handy when more than five show up and you don’t want to pull history for all of them right now.

After it connects

Your CQG accounts appear on the Personal dashboard under Personal Brokers, badged Real money. Two things are specific to CQG:

  • CQG reports your fills, not your fees. Your trading P&L starts as gross. To see it net of commissions, declare your rates — see Declaring your commission rates. Until you do, the dashboard flags that net is shown without commissions.
  • CQG doesn’t report deposits, withdrawals, or transfers. Log those yourself in the personal cash ledger.

If an account doesn’t appear after connecting, the reasons in Account didn’t appear after sync apply. Still stuck? Contact support via Settings → Help & support.
