Connecting a personal (real-money) account

A personal account is your own real-money brokerage account — the one you own, as opposed to a prop firm’s evaluation or funded account. PropStax tracks it separately from your prop accounts, on its own Personal dashboard.

Where you choose it

When you open Sync (the same wizard you use for prop brokers), the first step asks what kind of account you’re connecting:

  • Prop firm account — an evaluation or funded account through a prop firm. This is the default.
  • Personal brokerage account — your own real-money account.

Pick Personal brokerage account, then connect through Tradovate.

What you need to know

  • Tradovate only, for now. Personal accounts connect through Tradovate’s OAuth. Rithmic and DxFeed personal accounts aren’t supported yet — which data feed covers what each feed can do.
  • It requires Pro. Real-money account tracking is a Pro feature. On the free tier the Personal option shows an Upgrade prompt instead. See Subscription & billing.
  • It’s real money. Everything you connect here is your actual brokerage balance — PropStax marks it with a Real money badge so it’s never confused with a prop sim account.

After it connects

Your personal account lands on the Personal dashboard, not the Prop Firm one. If you have both kinds of account, a Prop Firm / Personal switch appears at the top of the dashboard to move between them — see The Personal dashboard.

Personal accounts are kept completely separate from your prop math: they never mix into your prop firm totals, Net cash flow, or per-firm comparisons. That separation is deliberate — sim performance and real-money performance shouldn’t blend.

If your personal account doesn’t appear after connecting, the same reasons in Account didn’t appear after sync apply; if it still won’t show, contact support via Settings → Help & support.
