Firms
Firms is the tab that answers whether a firm has been worth trading. Every broker you have logged money against appears, ranked by net — what came back minus what went in. Every figure is printed; the bars only draw them, on one track per card so lengths compare down the card.
What the tab shows
- Standouts — the most profitable broker, the highest ROI, the biggest money pit and the most accounts blown, each with its figure, lifetime. A tile with a broker behind it opens that broker’s page; a tile with none says why.
- Firm comparison — one table: Spent, Received, Net (drawn as a bar either side of zero, every row on one scale), ROI (net over spent; a dash with nothing spent) and Pass rate as passed of decided evaluations, “2 of 6”. The All firms footer is the ledger’s total with the portfolio’s ROI and pass rate. On a phone, Spent and Received fold away and the pass rate sits under the broker’s name.
- ROI leaderboard — net over spent, as a percentage, each broker a bar either side of zero, with the portfolio’s own ROI as a dashed line labeled where it falls, below zero included. A broker with no recorded costs has no ROI and is left out; add costs in Financials to see it.
- By account size — ROI and Pass rate for each account size, smallest first, with accounts stored with no size last as No size. ROI is net over spent across each size’s accounts, with a dashed line, Sizes shown, for the sizes that have a bar taken together. It is not your overall ROI: a size with nothing spent has no ROI and is left out, and a cost or payout logged with no account isn’t in any size. The ⓘ gives both in dollars, so the card adds up to the header. Pass rate is passed of decided evaluations, as in the table, with the arithmetic under each bar (“2 passed of 6 decided”), for every size with an evaluation; a size with none decided shows the dash.
- Trading — Performance by firm, four cards from synced accounts only, described below. The ⓘ by the heading says how many ended accounts had no sync after their end day; the day that ended them is not in these cards. A Tradovate account isn’t counted once its final read, the read after the broker turned it off, has read its balance. The switch under the heading picks All accounts or Active only, the same choice as on the Overview tab; under Active only, a firm with no Active account leaves the cards, and one whose Active accounts are none of them synced shows the dash with no active synced accounts.
- Lifecycle — Status by firm, each broker’s accounts by status, described below.
Which entries a firm’s row counts
Every cost and payout counts once, under the broker of the account it is logged against, or, for an entry logged in broker-total mode, under the broker it names. A broker you have logged money against but hold no accounts with still gets its own row, and an entry that names no broker and no account is shown on its own line, Not linked to an account, in the table here and in the Cash Flow tab’s share lists alike, so the rows add to the ledger’s total. The full rule is in How PropStax counts money.
Performance by firm
Four cards, lifetime, from synced accounts only: imported, unsynced and upload-only accounts have no trade history, so a broker none of whose accounts is synced keeps its row with a dash, and not synced under it where the card has room for the reason. The Profit factor and Fees % cards read the daily history, which loads after the rest of the page: each holds a placeholder until it arrives, and says so, with a retry, when it cannot load.
- Expectancy, the net trading P&L after trading fees over the trades that made it, as bars either side of zero with the arithmetic under each (”−$54,938 net over 13,565 trades”): the average result of one trade at that broker. A broker’s summed trading P&L is not shown: on an evaluation that figure is progress toward the firm’s target, and on a funded account a claim until it is paid, so a broker’s sum reads the firm’s rules rather than your trading.
- Win rate of decided trades, with the arithmetic under each bar (“430 of 805 trades won”), on the broker’s own basis (see the Overview).
- Profit factor, gross profit over gross loss (“$53,902 won, $42,702 lost”), with a tick at 1.00: below it the trades lost money, and the bar and figure take the loss color.
- Fees % of gross turnover, fees over gross profit plus gross loss (“$972 of $22,089”), least first.
A broker whose figure cannot be computed shows the dash and the reason: no trades, no decided trades, no losing trades, no closed trades.
Status by firm
One bar per broker, every bar the whole of that broker’s accounts, segmented by status — Active, Passed, Blown, Expired and Closed, each in its own color, the same colors every chart uses — with the counts in words under it (“3 active, 2 passed, 4 blown”) and the account count at the right. Brokers are ordered by account count, most first; a status no broker has an account in is not in the legend. A row opens the Broker detail page.
Pass rate counts finished evaluations only: passed over passed, blown and expired among your evaluations. A closed evaluation is outside it, and a funded account never counts, whatever happened to it: you pass an evaluation, not a funded account. The table’s Pass rate column carries it as “2 of 6”, By account size splits it by size, and the Brokers page and each Broker detail page show the same figure. The status filter in the sidebar never changes it.
What’s period-scoped vs. lifetime
Everything on this tab is lifetime, so the period selector does not show here: the cash figures, the counts, the status mix, the pass rate and the trading figures don’t change when you change the period on the Cash Flow tab.
