Liquidation explained

PropStax shows your liquidation level — the balance below which your broker terminates the account — in three places:

  • The sticky status bar on the Account detail page, with both dollars and a percentage buffer.
  • The “Closest to liq.” tile on the Dashboard, for whichever active account is nearest its floor.
  • The dashed red line on the equity curve chart, showing where the floor sat on each day.

How the buffer color works

The buffer is your current balance minus the liquidation level. PropStax colors it:

  • Green — comfortable buffer.
  • Amber — getting tight.
  • Red — close enough to warrant attention.

The thresholds are based on percentages of your drawdown allowance, so they scale with account size.

The displayed level is what your broker enforces

PropStax pulls the liquidation rules directly from your broker. Some brokers add a small cushion above the rule floor; others don’t. Either way, what PropStax shows is what your broker is actually enforcing on your account at that moment.

If you notice a discrepancy with the buffer your broker is showing, contact support — we’ll investigate.
