Journal settings

Settings → Journal is where you set how your journal is written and read. Everything here follows your account across devices, like your theme.

Sections

Two lists, Trades and Positions and Notes, set the sections your journal is written in: one for an entry on a trade or a position, one for a note on a day (see Journaling trades and positions and Notes on a day). Each section is a box when you write and a heading in the finished entry. Out of the box each list holds a few.

Type a title in the field under a list and press Add. The icons on a row move the section up or down, rename it or remove it. Save keeps the list; Use the default puts the built-in one back. A list holds up to 12 sections, and a title up to 40 characters; with no section at all, a new entry starts as one box.

Changing a list changes no entry that is already written: an entry keeps the sections it was written under. A section you need once is added on the entry itself, where you write it.

Section heading color picks one color for the headings of a finished entry and the titles where you write. The swatch shows the current choice, and Default is the color of the text.

Heading size sets the size of a finished entry’s section headings, Small, Medium or Large; Small is where they start. The titles over the boxes where you write follow, a step smaller.

Empty sections is a switch between No heading and Show heading. At No heading, the default, a finished entry shows the sections that hold words and leaves the empty ones out; at Show heading it shows the empty ones too, each with a dash under its heading. While you write, every section has its box either way.

Calendar visibility

A day with a note and a day with trade or position journal entries each show a dot on the Calendar (see Notes on a day). The switch goes between No dots and Show dots; at Show dots pick a color for each dot: the swatch beside Notes and beside Entries shows the current choice, and Default puts the built-in color back.

The status tags the Calendar shows on the days accounts passed, were blown or paid out are a setting of their own, under Appearance & preferences.
